+ Who is RCIA for?

Any BSU student/staff seeking to further their relationship with God in the Sacramental Life of the Catholic Church... through Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Eucharist (Communion). We merge those to be Baptized along with those who are seeking Confirmation (including Baptized Catholics) into the RCIA process to enhance everyone's understanding of the Catholic faith, spiritual development and to build community!

+ What can you expect in the RCIA process/journey?

• All are welcome! The Sacramental Gifts of the Church are for all!
• RCIA is a journey and each participant is allowed to travel that journey at their pace without pressure!

+ What are the RCIA Expectations?

• ​ Weekly Sunday Mass attendance.
• Commitment to develop a prayer life and relationship with God.
• Daily study of Scripture and the Catholic faith. We use an independent study format.
• Building small faith community relationships with others in the RCIA journey. Weekly RCIA meetings on campus at Bronco Catholic.
• Attend a retreat

+ What are the steps in the RCIA process?

+ What are the dates and deadlines for the school year?

*We will begin the RCIA journey at Bronco Catholic in October of each fall semester and will accept additional participants throughout the year dependent on individual case and needs. A deeper RCIA step, called the Rite of Acceptance/Welcoming, will occur in late November or early December and will move the participant from an Inquirer to a Catechumen. Catechumens will journey to the Bishop sometime in February/March for the Rite of Election to further their journey to the Sacraments and become the Elect. The very important days of Lent (Ash Wednesday - Holy Week prior to Easter) are the final Period of Purification and Enlightenment leading up to the Easter Vigil. Lent is a period of preparation marked by prayer, fasting, alms giving, study, and spiritual direction for the Elect, and prayers for them by the parish communities.
